Making Sense of What Has Happened, Understanding Yourself More Deeply, and Finding a Way Forward

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing, or emotionally heavy.

You may have experienced trauma, loss, difficult relationships, or significant life events that continue to affect you today. Perhaps anxiety has become part of everyday life, you find yourself constantly on alert, struggling to switch off, or carrying emotions that feel difficult to understand.

Sometimes there is a clear reason for seeking support. At other times, there is simply a growing sense that something doesn't feel quite right.

Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to face it alone.

I offer a warm, calm and confidential space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and begin to make sense of your experiences.

I am Sue Mansbridge MBACP, a qualified Level 5 BACP Accredited Psychodynamic Counsellor with additional training in Trauma Focused Therapy. I provide counselling in person from The Treatment Hub in Basingstoke town centre and online throughout the UK.

My work is grounded in psychodynamic counselling and informed by additional training in trauma-focused therapy, allowing me to tailor my approach to your unique experiences and needs, while always working collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for you.

Working Together

Therapy is not about having all the answers or knowing exactly where to begin.

Many people arrive feeling confused, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or unsure why they are struggling in the way they are. Others come with a clear understanding of what has happened and are looking for support in processing its impact.

Together, we can create a space where difficult experiences can be approached with curiosity, compassion, and understanding.

I work at a pace that feels manageable for you, recognising that meaningful change often begins with feeling safe enough to explore your experiences and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.

A Particular Interest in Trauma

Much of my professional experience and additional training has centred around trauma, loss, grief, and significant life events.

I am particularly interested in understanding how difficult experiences can continue to affect us emotionally, physically, and relationally long after they have happened. Therapy offers an opportunity to explore these experiences with curiosity, compassion, and understanding, helping you make sense of their impact and find a way forward.

A Space for Healing, Growth and Discovery

Whatever has brought you here, therapy can offer the opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

With warmth, compassion, and professional support, I will walk alongside you as we work towards greater understanding, healing, and lasting change.

You deserve a space where your story can be heard.
